Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I am insured and do offer guarantee subject to the Australian Building Code. Sometimes customers require less cost on a job and sometimes tell me how they want things done and of I advise them if this is correct or not and explain why. Than we come up with a solution.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was just 18 at the time and I had to learn something quick. I was paying rent but back than for 200 a week and supported myself so going back to study was not an option. and it just happen to be a friend of my grandmothers needed help on a job, and that is how I started concreting.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Once i was digging out a job behind a house in Bexley. It was for a shed, anyway i came across a watch that was old but very expensive watch from india that had been under the ground by about half a metre. It happened to be the customers fathers who past away 5 years before.

Like to make customers impressed with my work, I like all the tricky things that others cant do. I enjoy outdoors and the hard work. And I enjoy my work.

Ask to see other jobs like there one, or even talk to other customers of mine. Ask for Insurances, guarantees etc. And ask for a job plan

How long does the job take? I usually say more time due to weather or unless I have other work in between. And most of the time I finish in less time than said. That way everyone is happy

Never change your price unless unforeseen circumstances in any case advise customer before continuing on. Be punctual, respectful and honest.

That is something I wouldn't push for its not how I would like to come across, Although communication I a big part of business. I would feel that if the customer isn't communicating with a business than of course they will not be comfortable. In any job I like to be clear in what is involved.

Size of job by sq meters. what kind of job required and what its for. And if there is any plans involved such structural plans, and maybe if there going to be plans in the future that is associated with that job.

Be sure on what you want and need to have done. Instead of doing one part of job at one time do all of what you need to have done in one quote. Don't change things as this could be a problem of size and or buying materials that may already be purchased.

I never really ask customers about other quotes i think best unsaid although some customers have told me i often have better or sometimes my details and materials added in my quote and that my quote is the same or very close.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I feel i charge fairly and usually by the sq metre although sometimes, requirement of excavator, line pumps or even site access can be added on to quote. Sometimes very small jobs cost more than expected due to cost and delivering of materials, and of course time of work included.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Yes, My main line of work is everything to do with concreting, although i am very experienced in all aspects of my job from reading plans and setting out, excavation, formwork, steel fixing and job planning.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I have work for council and I have a vast amount of experience in a lot of big jobs such railways, bridges, civil projects, and high rise building for companies such John Holland, Baulder Stone, and various high end building companies. I was only 26 when I received my cert 3 in concreting.
