  Steve showed urgency in wanting to start this job ASAP. I advised that I didn't need a perfect job but that the slab needed to be level so it could be used as a gym floor. He advised that he would have some workers the next day to assist with the job. Next day he showed up on time by himself and I assisted to move what was in the storage area. We discussed the job again and he advised that there should be no issues. I had to leave at around 10.30 as my partner was in hospital and stupidly gave him the balance payment. Later in the afternoon I messaged to ask if he was almost finished. He messaged me to say he had a family emergency and left a worker to complete. he also asked me to remove the step form work and advised that this was not possible and he would need to attend to it. That night I returned home to find left over concrete on the driveway. The slab is not flat, one section has not been completed, the stairs look terrible and in general, something I would expect from someone that has never laid a slab. After numerous messages and attempted phone calls it is obvious that this guy is a seriously poor tradesman who will rip off anyone he can find. He returned some texts and kept using the words 'we' but I know he was the only person on site. *** PLEASE NEVER USE STEVE ***
