Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We are insured for public liability and the waterproofing work is guaranteed for  minimum 7 years. The hard floor surfaces are guaranteed for work competency, but depends on the usage after the work has been completed.

What do you like most about your job?

I like the end result after completing a job wether it is waterproofing, tiling, or cleaning and sealing of the work that I have just competed. I also like to see a dirty looking path or driveway looking good after I have finished..

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

do they have the proper  qualifications for the particular project to be carried out and do they have insurances. They should ask for some form of ID. They should also ask for there trade Licence.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Accepted Answer

They mosty ask about how long the job will take and is there any mess. They will ask If I take away any rubbish if any are left over. I will tell them approximately how long the job will take and normally there is no mess, even when water proofing. Rubbish will be up to them to decide.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I have been in this industry for 45 years and have worked in many houses, from the basic to the very large, which sometime the owners leave me the keys and full access to the property. I have never had an issue with anyone in 45 years.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I have been tiling walls and floor tiling for 46 years. I started my apprenticeship in Glasgow and have worked in London for 7 Years. I have been in Australia for 35 years and have worked in many areas around the Sydney area. I also hold a full waterproof Licence, R97807. I also do small tile repair jobs, from fixing a soap holder to fixing shower recesses.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Is there power available, water and toilet facilities. Is there parking available or nearest  parking and is there anywhere to dispose of clean rubbish. Is there animals around so they do not escape.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Please make sure there is easy access to were the job is. Please have parking available near the area to be cleaned if possible. Show the operator of the cleaning machine, power & a near water tap, to hook up to.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I work by myself most of the time and from home and do not have many overheads. I have really good machinery and the proper tools to do the job pretty quick and efficient.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Depending on each job and the materials and labour involved. I will charge per job with a fixed price with no hidden costs.  I also like to look at the job prior to starting if possible.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I do Hard floor tile cleaning and sealing. I use a Rotowash machine which is for indoor and outdoor tiles and hard surfaces. The machine uses 90% less water and is  eco friendly.

Wall & Floor Tiling experience, 45 years, waterproofing experience, 32 years.  I have worked, mainly in the renovating side of the building industry, new bathrooms, wet areas and balconys and extensions.
