Paid a deposit of $1000 for a job that was quoted for $9500. After checking ABN on paperwork through fair trading which was expired I asked for my deposit back 3 days later. My builder sighted the quote and said we were being over charged by $4000 for the job. I have now learnt to shop around first . However we are a family with young children and did request the deposit back within 3 days of signing the quote and the work had not commenced. The company Fad Tiling would not be out of pocket due to the fact we are supplying the tiles. Fadi from Fad Tiling had refused to give us our deposit back which is unethical and morally wrong
