How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I always loved to work with people and help them to achieve what they want. I believe that when you give you receive back much more.  For the last 30 or so years I have partner and JV with a number of my clients. in a number of business.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

We asked to prepare the income tax return for a new client who had PAYG income, Some Interest, share Income , some salary sacrifice in to an employee scheme and an investment property. Once we reviewed we asked him to allow us to review the prior year returns. We do not charge a fee for this service but will charge a fee only if we are successfully able  to amend the returns and get additional refunds. We eventually amended the 2 year returns with a refund of over $30,000 and after that another 17,000 for the following year returns. We successfully negotiated with The ATO to allow a Company to pay $1,500,000 in back taxes while trading out of cash flow problems.

What do you like most about your job?

I like the fact that our clients get to be compliant with their Tax obligation but I enjoy to see them growing their business and be able to legally keep most of it from the Tax Department

For our business clients we need to have a meeting to establish their needs , their wants and finally their desire to succeed. Only then we provide a quote. For our individual clients  we need to know how many jobs they had the last financial year, What type of work they do and do they have other investments , property shares etc.

Our charge out rates depend on the complexity of a job/assignment. On continuing jobs we discuss with the clients and offer a fixed annual fee that is payable monthly in advance.
