How did you decide to get into your line of work?

As a former teacher of art and photography, I started to lose the passion as I was constantly teaching and rarely getting out and taking photos of my own. Now I do!!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

A few years back I took and early morning photo of a small jetty in Bunbury. A showed my image on my facebook page and received a message from a couple in Queensland who wished to purchase the image as that is where they meet, went crabbing and where the proposal was. That image is now on Canvas hanging on there wall in Queensland

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

One of my most commented on elements is my contact with my clients, before, during and after the shoot. It is is of upmost importance that I give what the clients want otherwise word of mouth could destroy my business

Competitive pricing and will listen to what you, the client really wants.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

A time requirement in terms of hours is always the starting point. The location of the shoot or shoots is always important as well as what after sales services are required (Albums, prints etc)

What you see is what you get , no hidden cost at all. As a sole trader I'm able to keep one on one contact with my clients and provide a service that wont break the bank

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

My rates are based on several factors.For events my quotes are based on time shooting which equates to $120 per hour. Post production is the most time consuming aspect of a photographer - so depending on hours spent the creation of fully edited images on DVD and copyright varies. The other factor is the travel to location.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I believe as a photographer you need to be able to have a wide range of skills. I like having the control in portraits however I enjoy the beautiful occasion of a wedding as well as the unpredictability

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Completed my Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education, however just recently have decided that my passion for photography, to be creative and to create memories for my clients were to strong to ignore
