I love photography. But the main reason why I am a photographer is that I love life in every form, I LOVE people and seeing people happy, that is why this section should be called ‘About You’, because my photography is all about You. I truly see unique beauty in every single human been and all creations. The camera is a magical, marvelous tool that allows me to capture what is essential- uniqueness, raw emotions, personalities and relationships.
I grew up in the southern part of Poland and left my country following my dreams by coming to Australia- after marrying the love of my life and my very best friend. Since then we have had two beautiful girls together- the biggest joy and treasure.
A few years ago something began to eat me up. I have always seen this amazing, unique beauty in everything that surrounds me, especially in humans. I realized that we all looked at things very differently and I so wanted to share with others what I saw. I realized with a camera I could communicate how I saw the world. I realized the power of emotional connection with a subject. I felt I had to follow my heart and to find out if I could be really good, at something that I loved. I am blessed with a husband who knew that too, and supported me in making the idea to come true in all possible ways.
Today I now I have the best job in the world, as I do what I absolutely love to do!
Even though I always chase my dreams and visions in photography I also realize that people have their visions too, and I always aim for a positive, emotional response to the photos they receive.

FANTASTIC PHOTOS!!- We have recently received our family photo album from Maja Szumylo Emotional photography and we could not be happier with the results. Maja is a true professional and one can tell that she simply loves working with the camera. We are so happy with how our photos turned out from our engagement photo shoot - my fianc and I highly recommend Maja!!!! We first met up with Maja to discuss our ideas for the photo shoot and help us feel at ease (which isn't hard as she is one of the nicest people I have ever met) and we were confident from that point on that she knew exactly what we were after. I especially love that she focuses on capturing peoples personalities through her photos, not just posed or staged images. The fact that she is so nice, has a natural creative eye and understands her clients aspirations for the photos is just a bonus in my opinion. I cannot speak highly enough of her. We love our photos and have them displayed all around the house. Thank you, thank you thank you!
