How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always been a stylist...even before I knew what a stylist was! As a child I would drive my parents crazy with the constant re-arranging of my bedroom furniture & coming up with new ways to re-merchandise my mums beloved display cabinets. I have always loved interiors & now its my career!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I recently did an office re-design where the open plan space had no defined work zones, the boardroom was used as a storage room & reception was not inviting. With a new floor plan, updated furniture & partitions, we manged to re-zone their work space & improve their productivity and staff morale.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the joy people get when they live better in their newly created space. Nothing makes me happier than to hear how a client wakes up happier in their new bedroom, or their staff are working more efficiently in their newly planned office. For me this is true job satisfaction.

A customer should ask about the designers previous experience & if they can share any references for similar projects to yours. You may also want to ask to see a real example of a past design, so you can see the quality of their design concepts & how detailed they are.

I'm mostly asked by people "What type of designer are you?". People think they need to hire a designer who's style is the same as theirs. A good designer will listen to the client & be able to deliver a concept that reflects their personal taste (not the taste of the designer).

Because I care! I get so much enjoyment from doing what I do & simply making people live better through clever design! I want each and every client to love the whole journey from start to finish. I always take an honest approach & believe a good reputation is always worth more!

I usually ask the client to explain the project & talk about their ideas first. It's important to know who will use the space and what functions the room needs to perform. It also helps to know budget and time-frame the job needs to be completed in so I can tailor something to suit you.

1) Have a clear idea of what styles you like. Pictures help narrow this down so we can save time determining your taste. 2) Know your total budget limits so time is not wasted sourcing the wrong furniture, tiles & taps. 3) Have a brief ready & clear idea of what functions the space needs to perform.

I offer a friendly & affordable design service...plus, I have no overheads, it's just me! That way I can charge a fair hourly rate for my service that is more affordable than the larger design firms or high-end designers.

I can work to either a Flat Rate Fee or an Hourly Rate of $80. Will depend on the size & type of job.

Completed a Diploma in Interior Design with the Interior Design Institute (with top marks I may add). I have a wealth of knowledge & experience in residential renovating, interior styling, furniture & art selection, space-planning, office design, landscape design & project management.
