How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I worked in the wine industry for many years. Once that finished up I decided that this is what I wanted to do. I worked at Ballarat Grammar School as a professional full-time gardener and then went out on my own to establish Parkview Property Services. It really is a great job that I thoroughly enjoy.

I don't have a favourite customer story as such. I have had so many great customers and each job I undertake brings it's own set of unique challenges and rewards.

What do you like most about your job?

I obviously enjoy landscaping, gardening and working outdoors. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction from transforming a less than perfect outdoor area into something the owner can be proud of. I enjoy helping people and I get many opportunities to do so in my line of work. Good old fashioned service and reliability is hard to come by these days and I often receive feedback complimenting me on my friendly service and professionalism. The best part is that I have without doubt the best clients in the Greater Ballarat region!

Some of the basic questions you should be asking your service provider before hiring them to carry out work on your premises are:  Are they insured?  Do they guarantee their work? Do they provide a free quote? Can they provide you with some references from previous clients?

The number one question people ask me is if I am insured. The answer of course is yes! I am fully insured to carry out work on your property. Do not hire anyone to conduct work on your property if they cannot prove to you that they are fully insured by providing a copy of their current insurance schedule.

The most typical things we need to know before we can provide a quote is the work that you require to be carried out, a phone number and an address. The rest we can work out whilst we conduct the quote.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Three tips I would give prospective clients to help them save money before we start work is: 1. Leave the area as clean and tidy as possible and free of debris such as kids toys, rocks, dog poo, etc. as all these things take time to remove and can add to the time it takes to complete a job.  2. Have any underground pipes, cables etc clearly marked, especially if any digging is required.  3. I love animals, but for their safety and mine, we require them to be locked away in a safe area as we conduct work. It saves time if we can work efficiently and safely.

As all properties are different and many clients have different requirements, we will generally charge for our services on a case by case basis. We have very competitive rates and provide you with a free no obligation quote.
