Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We are fully insured, Scott is a fully licensed concreter with QBCC, and also have public liability and workcover, as we are sub contractors to Dixon Homes, QA Development, and other small builders. We quarantee our work to a certain degree, anything structure yes, hair line cracks, No.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My uncle and cousins all do Concreting, and by year 9, was already working full time learning all the tricks of the trade. By 18 i was qualified and got my open license, and was running my own jobs and building a Company for myself

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

No, so much favourite, but an eye opener to let people know. We quoted a job and he went the cheap option, only to get a call a few months later, to come and fix up the job that was only half done, paying in full $11000, and the concretor he hired never came back, plus had all the wrong falls

What do you like most about your job?

Besides meeting alot of different friendly face and always going to different locations, but mainly looking back at the finished product. It may just be concrete, but it makes a huge transformation to the properties once job is complete, and taking pride in what I've done for the customer

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Firstly, use a fully licensed Concretor, for reassurance that if by any chance something goes wrong, rough job, major structural cracks etc Joe blow doesn't just take off with your cash and never to be seen or heard again.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Not so much what the customer ask, as Scott is one who gets alot of compliments in the sense of, that he will bring up 'Water Issues', whether they require a drain or have fall falling a certain way, where the customer will tell us that, we were the only one that brought it up

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

We will tell you how we see it. We quote every job, as if it was our own place and how we think it should be and what would be required. We would rather refuse a job if the customer wanted us to cut corners or do a dodgy job. We arent the company that will do a half arse job, just for payment.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Because I am a Experienced Concreter and I hold a Open License in Concrete, rather then a Cert III, in which they just hand out these days, I am also fully Insuranced and have Public liability, plus I'm just a down to earth guy and has a Great personality (lol

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The measurements or square rate of job, if there is access for both bobcat and concrete truck, whether the job requires extra s like underfill rebates, thickenings etc., plans and photos are great, but site visit is always reccomended for an accurate price.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. There are small things like - if you have pavers removing yourself. Or piles of different materials that you can move, as it will save you paying us in labour to do it.  2. If your property is a new house etc, get us in before the landscapers, as it limits access to certain areas with bobcat

I have been told my pricing sits in the middle, not the cheapest, but you are guaranteed to get a professional job. like that saying "You get what you pay for", so the cheapest isn't always the best. I take pride in my work, and expect nothing but the best.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We base our price on square meterage and also on site visit, as it may require extras. In regards to payment we accept Bank transfer, Visa payment (with a 2% fee of total) Cash & Cheque, also Depending on some circumstances we have accepted a 60-70% and made a repayment plan for the remaining amount

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in all aspects of Concreting - Plain, coloured and exposed concrete, decorative concrete (Covercrete), sheds (that require rebates, footings, thickenings etc) , also difficult properties as they might be too steep etc and working it out to still get the correct grades req, as well as having no issues with there cars scrapping or bottoming out, and last but not least dealing with and solving jobs with water issues etc

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have over 20 years experience with all aspects of concreting, I hold a open license to do everything. I was 1 of Logan council's go to guy for over 15yrs being there concretor, so I'm aware of all the rules & regulations, currently do QA development properties as well as Dixon Homes, and others. Myself and all my boys all hold White/ Blue Cards and my boys are all certified at some level in Concreting
