Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
I'm a sole trader and work for myself, therefore I take full responsibility for all my work and put extra effort in each and every job. My service is tailored to each clients individual needs and I always make sure my customers are satisfied with the final product.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I have 15 years experience in the electrical trade, and have experience in both domestic and commercial aspects. I have supervised large projects and managed teams of 10+ persons , as well as guided and trained apprentices.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
Domestic, commercial, industrial and odd jobs. Mains and switchboard upgrades, overheads to undergrounds. New installs , renovations, smoke detectors, RCD's.
How do you normally charge for your service?
Jobs can be quoted before initial work takes place, or can be performed on a charge up rate. Payment can be made by electronic transfers or cash on invoice. I offer free quotes.
What makes your pricing competitive?
I am a sole trader and work for myself, therefore have lower overheads than larger companies. My running costs are lower therefore these savings are transferred to my clients through competitive pricing.

Payment on the day is appreciated and rewarded with further discounts. Clients can also supply their own materials to further decrease overall costs.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
The address , type of house eg. double brick, tiled, 1 or 2 stories, units etc. What work needs to be done and materials supplied.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
I am fully insured with AAMI and provide a one year warranty for all work, including light bulbs. I take full responsibility for all work performed and adhere to National Australian Standards.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I am a sole trader and family man. My livelihood and family income is based on my reputation, therefore I always offer my best service and strive for customer satisfaction.

What do you like most about your job?
I work for myself and enjoy being my own boss and enjoy providing customers with a service they are happy with. I also take pride in my workmanship and feel proud when a job is complete and all parties are satisfied with the outcome.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I decided to become an electrician by the time I was ten years old because i was always pulling off power points off the wall and connecting them to my toy cars. Lucky enough I am still here to tell the tale. My mother was not surprised when I told her I was to become an electrician.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
The most common question i always get asked is, why do electricians cost so much? My answer to them is, 'We take full responsibility for our work, and can get in a lot of trouble if it is not done correctly, which can include fines and even imprisonment.'

I have more than my fair share, but most of the time the people that offer me coffee and are keen for a little chat are probable my favourite.
