Well actually it kind of found me, when i was younger I thought the last thing I wanted to do was be a computer technician and work on websites but as I got older I had more and more family and friends ask me to help them and they suggested I should do it as a job

I like the variety of my work and the challenge of always seeing different problems to solve and the satisfaction my clients get from gaining knowledge or seeing their ideas come to life.

It is good to ask about what skills and experience they have so they can elaborate on certain appropriate areas and what kind of follow up support do they offer.

What computer should I buy?  Well that depends on what you are going to do with it, if you want to use it while sitting on the couch or outside get a laptop. If you just want it to sit there and do work processing and pay bills get a desktop. What brand of computer should I buy? A good brand laptop is Dell, HP or Toshiba and desktops are Dell, HP and Lenovo.

I believe in honesty and integrity especially when it comes to doing work for other people. Reputation is the most important thing for a small business, so part of my work ethic is to focus on the satisfaction of my client. Money is important for a business, but the true foundation of a small business is building good relationships with your clients. I believe if you are going to do something, do it well.

With more than 25 years in the IT industry, experience makes up for a large portion of knowledge gained. As a mobile technician, it is sometimes easier if I come to you so you don't have to unplug things and to determine if problems are caused by local environments. I pride myself on my work and serving the customer's needs above all else.

What the job is. if it is a website or graphic design job, whether they have ideas on designs or are looking for a unique design. Computer repair related problems require answers to some basic diagnostic questions.

1. Have all the information needed in regards to the job before I start the job 2. Figure out and decide what you need to be done so I can do it quicker in one setting and don't have to come back 3. When looking for help, supply as much information about the problem as possible so it doesn't require as much time from me to figure out what went wrong.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Living in a country town, you have to be mindful of the local economy and pricing structure of where you live and what is good value for money, charging by the hour or 1/2 hour increments instead of per service, means that the customer gets more services for less money.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I send an invoice which can be paid in cash, cheque or direct deposit into the bank account which is specified on the invoice. I charge per hour for most services, but if it is a long job I agree on a package price with the client.

I specialise in setting up home & business networks and setting up secure wireless networks and diagnosing and repairing computers both Apple and normal computers and teaching people about technology so they can be more efficient.

I have completed a Certificate III and IV in Information Technology at TAFE and also a Certificate IV in Training and Education. With 25 years experience in IT, I have gained more than half my knowledge through the clients I have and am able to provide services in all areas of IT from computer repair to website design. I have experience in all versions of Microsoft Windows 98SE, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 and Server OS 2003 & 2008 and Mac OS X and Office applications Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Etc.
