I've used Ilia's services for mmm....20 years now. Before that I'd run four national magazines using some of the best designers around. In my opinion Ilia is up there with the best and if I need a designer now my first choice is always her. Doesn't matter if its magazine, online or brochure work, I will always ask Ilia first. Not only for her design skills either. She's fast and reliable. She's also able to take a wide range of briefs and adapt her signature style to just about anything. She's good with editorial and knows how to take a great photo. She's also a lovely person. Five stars. Ten out of ten. Read more

Another fantastic job done by Ilia. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are many graphic designers but there's only one Ilia! She has a knack for knowing what I want before I do!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
My diverse services focus on delivering positive results for my clients. I discuss and communicate my client's requirements to their chosen audience. My work is tailored to individual requirements and I ensure I have a full appreciation of my clients needs. I am efficient, creative and dedicated.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I have 25 years of hands on graphic design experience. I have worked in both advertising and boutique agencies in Canberra and Queensland. I continue to work with several long term clients from over 20 years ago. I have taught Graphic Design at Griffith University and tutored at Canberra University.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
I am a multi-discipline designer, working in a wide range of areas. I have extensive experience in printed media, packaging, logo design and advertising. I am an effective copywriter and excellent at concept development. I offer web concept design, but work with a developer to construct projects.
How do you normally charge for your service?
My rates vary widely depending on the duration and complexity of the project. A simple flyer or logo design where a client has a clear brief and supplies all associated material will cost roughly $70-$200 depending on the complexity. Magazines and catalogues are approximately $70/page. These prices are an very rough indication and each project needs to be assessed on an individual basis.
What makes your pricing competitive?
I am speedy and results driven. I provide more than pretty graphics I consider all aspects - the audience, the client's needs and the most effective way to achieve them. I also provide advice on time and cost saving as projects progress. I am also able to source cost effective suppliers.
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?
My hourly rate is negotiable depending on the duration of your project. I offer a reduced rate for projects exceeding 10 hours in length.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
Provide detailed information about your product/purpose and your audience. Provide me with examples of work you like and dislike - include colours, concepts, designs etc. Collate all the essential copy and images required and provide a clear outline of your requirements and objectives.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
A complete run down of objectives and actual design required. For example - logo development (is it from scratch or based on something), web development (provide number of pages and purpose), signgage - location, magazines - number of pages. The more specific, the more accurate quote.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I have satisfied clients who have maintained a relationship with me for decades because of my integrity and commitment to their needs. I offer excellent advice on the best suppliers, cost saving methods (including reducing their need for me) and stay in touch at all stages of any project.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
The most common question I get asked is 'Which design do you prefer?' I normally suggest clients ask their potential audience and we work together with the feedback received. There is no point in having a beautiful design we both like, if the audience doesn't respond to it.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
Are you a good listener and will you follow my direction? Will you let me know how a job is progressing and stay in touch? Will you provide me with suggestions and advice if I ask for them? Will you be able to help me organise outsourcing once your part in the project is complete?
What do you like most about your job?
I love design and problem solving. A design is like a multi layered jigsaw puzzle. Not only must it look beautiful, but it must communicate the correct message. It's not always easy, but the result is always satisfying! A good designer is invisible - the audience should only see the message.
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
Working with ASP when they collaborated with The Voluntary Euthanasia Party. I had 20 minutes to come up with a billboard concept based around the words 'Happy Ending'. After 15 minutes of bouncing concepts between myself and the ASP team, we had a winner. Quickest concept development ever!
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I have always been a visual communicator. I have a background in fine art, and have spent my entire life, creating and designing. If you visit my website you will see I don't limit myself to graphic design.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
I provide backup assistance when projects do not pan out as planned. As my product is conceptual, rather than a finished product, I cannot insure it, however I will negotiate and resolve any production hiccups with your suppliers to ensure you get the product you require.
