Sometimes the people who don't choose you are just as important as those who do. When we first started the business we had a meeting with a potential client who loved our attitude, enthusiasm, attention to detail and approach - but ended up signing with another bookkeeper on the recommendation of her accountant. She's been a strong supporter of ours since the beginning, and continues to refer businesses to us because we've always kept in touch and taken the time to really care.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The size of the business, the number of sales and expenses each month, whether there are employees on payroll. Whether the accounts are reconciled and up to date or whether there is data entry required.  It helps having a copy of the last bank statement and access to the existing accounting system.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Come prepared! If you need us to get you caught up with data entry or reconciliation, then have copies of all your bank statements, invoices and receipts. An organised file is good, scanned documents are best!

We are a mix of Chartered Accountants, Certified Public Accountants, Bookkeepers and technical experts. We are all Xero certified advisors. Digit is a Xero Silver Partner, a registered BAS Agent, and member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, amongst other industry associations and individual qualifications!
