We had a client whose tax returns were outstanding from number of years with imposed penalty in their account and got a warning letter from ATO. We helped them out to organise their data and managed to file their Tax returns before the deadline. We also managed to get their penalties waived by ATO.

-Try to organise the data in excel format/PDF format rather than in handwritten notes in a diary or so. - Keep all the invoices handy and provide all the relevant information to your accountant on time - Engage with your accountant to give him/her the fair idea of your operation.

We are a small firm and like to keep our costs minimum and so on like to pass on these cost benefit to our clients. We request our clients to give us the information in more organised way so we do not have to spend more time in organising the data hence finishing the job in less time.
