Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Insurance is not required for our line of work as the Council or Certifier will stamp the plans if they meet code.  Our guarantee: If there are any errors in the drawing we will fix them for free usually within 24 hours. We also guarantee our deadline.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

We helped a potential buyer purchase an apartment by contacting the real estate agent (who didn't have a floorplan), we gained access and had the plan drawn up and the apartment was under contract within 24 hours of the customer contacting us.  The deadline was extremely tight, the customer could now complete the renovation to the unit and be comfortable for the rest of retirement.

Our reward is being able to help people visualise their dreams and put it on paper.  We love helping potential home owners own their design and be able to get the best price possible by using the design as part of a tender document.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

Some questions to ask: "Will I own the copyright over the plans once I've paid for them?" "Will this plan be enough for my desired outcome?" eg. Tender, Council Approval, Building Approval/Construction. "Can a builder contact you if they need further information regarding the design?" "What if I need to make changes or change my mind once the plan has been drawn?" "Can you also give me an estimate for how much this house will cost?" "Can you supply me with a document that will help with the tender process for Builders?"

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

You will receive the plans before you pay, there is no risk for a job not done correctly.  If you're not happy with the work when we send you the plan, please let us know, we are always trying to improve the business.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Accepted Answer

We have worked in the industry for many years, and have Estimators on staff for free cost efficiency consultation.  You own the copyright (what are we going to do with your design idea?). This means the builder must price on your design, not lock you in to their copyright if the price is too high.  Transparency... We give you a fixed price for service up front, we don't do any work until you have agreed upon the price.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

What end result is desired?  We don't want to design something just for the sake of designing it (we're not going to live there), we want to know what is important, eg. "Natural Light to reduce energy bills", "House Price Efficiency", "Bedroom size", "good size storage to fit my boat in the garage", "plan for builder to quote", "Rumpus room for Pool Table + able to hit the balls without using a shortened cue", etc.  "Design for access and mobility". eg. Able to cater for wheel chair access and mobility around the house.  "Wet area Elevations required for tiled splashback, mirror, and sanitaryware Selections"  "Front Elevation so we know what the roof line and facade will look like."

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Tell us exactly what you want. Eg. Brick veneer, hebel, 450mm eaves.  2. Width and depth of the allotment is a great start.  3. Council policy and/or details about Private Open Space, Site Coverage, Set backs are very handy.

We offer one free iteration. This means if you're not quite happy with how your design works, we'll make the change for free for the first time.  Any future changes aren't any problem, they will be fast and cheap as we already have the plan.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Our pricing guarantees a speedy delivery date, if there are any hold ups on our end we will discount each day over the estimated delivery date.  What could cost you thousands may only cost a touch more then the shopping :)

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Our price is always fixed up-front. Any further charges must be agreed upon.  We charge a fixed rate for concept plans and real estate plans, it's usually a square metre rate for Council and Working Drawings. (This will be fixed upfront).

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Accepted Answer

Whether it's single storey detacted dwellings, or units up to two storey's.  Staff has worked for Six different Builders, Two Engineers, and One Property Investor. The focus has always been price efficiency for the client.
