My girlfriend and I were tasked of picking out the photos 2 weeks later, but they all looked so good that we wanted them all! The photographers were also friendly, which made the day eventful. Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
Antonio was trained in film photography. He believes a photograph should be taken right the first time - on the camera. That way there's no need for hours of editing on the computer to correct anything. He takes beautiful images, capturing people as they are. He doesn't pose people for hours. Weddings are your day, not the photographer's showcase. Make sure it's about you and not them!
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
Antonio has photographed over 1000 weddings, more than 2000 portraits - individuals and families, hundreds of events for 10 - 500 people. Brides love him because he takes charge to keep on time without getting in their faces. He's worked with prime ministers and statesmen, generations of families who love him and treat him as one of their own. He knows weddings inside out and back to front - all the cultural requirements. He's never offended a priest, but he has seen other photographers thrown out of a church, synagogue and a mosque for not being respectful and not knowing the customs. Make sure your photographer knows their stuff. You only hvae one wedding day, so get it right!
How do you normally charge for your service?
We provide many packages for all budgets. We ask for a deposit of $750 to secure the date. We ask for another 50% of the balance before the event. We ask for the full balance when we deliver the photos on disk or the first full edit of the video. Simple.
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?
Winter wedding special for 2014. All weddings booked for June, July or August of 2014 will receive 15% off. Send us an email and mention the Winter Wedding Special to claim this.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
Gala is fully insured as a mobile photography business - so no matter what venue, our insurance covers us and our clients.
We guarantee the quality of our work. If disks don't work we happily replace them. Albums and prints are all passed by the customer for approval before we send to print.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
Gala will always ring the day before an event to confirm all the details and put the customer's mind at rest.
We turn up on time. Every time.
We do the job without fuss and we deliver the product in the fastest possible time. usually our wedding photos are ready for collection within 4-6 days of the wedding. Really!
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
Lots of photographers are doing everything these days, but to be really good you have to specialise with what you love and what you're good at. Photographing a house is NOT the same as photographing people. Antonio loves people, real people in real situations. He spent many years in professional portrait studios dealing with studio light and negative film. It makes him really good at getting the best from people to relax them and take the best photographs possible.
What makes your pricing competitive?
Photography is competitive. We've searched high and low to find the best products at the most reasonable prices so the customers get a great choice and qaulity products and we can continue in business. A wedding is not just the day. For photography it's editing the photos to remove all the ones where people are blinking or hvae weird expressions and putting these to disk ready for print. For video it's capturing the footage, editing for up to 40 hours and creating a piece of cinema that will help you to remember your wedding forever. It's an investment. We're efficient, experienced and we make a point not to rip people off.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
For a wedding we need to know when it is, the time of the ceremony and the number of people in the bridal party. We'd like to know if you're after an album or not because that definitely changes the way we frame shots and plan for an album.
We like to know whether you like photographs or whether this is something you fell you have to have to please mum.
For portraits, we'd like to know if you're after prints or the disk of photos. It can change the way we frame the shot.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
How many weddings have you done?
Do you have some client references?
Can you show me a full wedding? Any photographer can take one or two good shots, but only an experienced professional can show you full wedding after full wedding of good, accurate, clean photographs. The day is long and it only happens once!
What do you like most about your job?
People - and the excitement of a wedding day. I love to be able to bring years of experience into a home and relax everyone by placing the button holes correctly, or showing the bride how to walk in her dress without tripping.
