How did you decide to get into your line of work?

After working in the construction industry for many years I decided to set up my own business as I enjoy helping people transform their gardens through landscaping and help achieve their desired outside living areas.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy helping a customer achieve a home and garden that they can fully enjoy whether through my handyman service, garden clean ups or supply and install quality paving.

A customer should ask to see examples of previous work, any reviews or recommendations, check that their service professional has a valid ABN and is fully insured.

Most customers like to know a timeframe from job start to job completion. We always explain that we do our upmost to commence the job on the date agreed by both parties. We also keep customers informed of potential delays.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

We think that communication is very important when quoting and providing a service. If we are running late for a quote or there are potential job start delays due to unforseen circumstances we always give the customer as much notice as we can. We always like to make sure that the customer is happy with the job from beginning to end.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We always try to do site visits where possible and like to meet with the client face to face so that they can meet us and get to know us. We can also however provide paving quotes from house plans/builder plans and with respect to gardening jobs can give a price from photos especially if the client is out of WA or isn't able to meet with us on site.

We always consider a client's budget when preparing quotes and we can recommend ways that the customer can save money ie. we have trade accounts with paving suppliers so we can offer a competitive supply and install service.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Paving is charged per m2: limestone walls/planter boxes/soakwells are charged as a set price for the job; gardening services can either be per hour or for a fixed price which is what most of our customers prefer as they can budget for it.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialize in all aspects of brick paving including pool bullnose, pool areas, driveways, cross overs, side of house, patios areas. We have trade accounts with major paving suppliers and can pass these trade discounts onto our customers.

I have over 12 years experience in paving works and landscaping both in Australia and the UK with a solid construction background.
