Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
Techprovision is available to come to you in your home at any time or we offer remote access. By phone or even better we can log onto your PC remotely and help you out.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I have been working in the IT industry for over 20 years and have qualifications from Systems Technology to database administration and systems analysis. I have worked on hardware and software in many industries and have seen the entire spectrum of issues and queries.
How do you normally charge for your service?
Tech provision charges a fee for the first hour of work including a call out fee. The call out fee is only charged for travel over 25 km. A lot of work can be completed remotely so no call fee is charged. A reduced fixed hourly rate is then charged for time worked past the first hour.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
Many pc issues can be resolved by simply turning of all devices at the wall for 2 minutes and the starting them up again. The next step is to ensure all hardware is turned on and plugged in. Third is to check if any warning lights are displayed on any device. If all this has been checked then a call to tech provision may resolve the issue over the phone before an on site visit is required
What makes your pricing competitive?
Tech provision prices are a fixed hourly rate and a call out fee is only charged for call outs over 25 Kms. We offer remote assistance over the phone and remote PC access at a reduced hourly rate and convenient payment options.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
We are a local business and have the years of experience in the IT industry to back up the work that we provide and the knowledge and advice we give.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
We need to know the device that is having the issue ie. PC or Iphone. We need to know the circumstances around the issue ie. when it occurs and how often. and if possible a picture or screenshot of the issue. We are a mobile service so a photo on your smartphone texted or emailed through is of great assistance

I would ask what qualifications and experience the person you are hiring has. I am Microsoft certified degree qualified and have almost 20 years experience in the industry to back that up.
What do you like most about your job?
I like to be able to see a job through to the end. A job is not complete until the customer is happy and the issue is resolved.
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
I have had many customers over the years of who some have become close friends. one such customer who lived locally and had kids the same age as mine became a good friend and when i would go out there for a jo the kids would get together and play and having a coffee while doing work makes it not seem to much like work at all. And most memorable of is being paid in donuts once or twice. The family love it when you bring home a payment like that.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I am always tinkering with computers and electronic devices and have a passion to fine out how they work internally as well as attempt to use all the features available of which many are under untilised
