How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I began doing photography as a simple hobby at 14 years old and began truly exploring it creatively at 16 using my friends and classmates as test subjects. That's when I realised that I loved it. Getting an invitation from my university for an interview was when I realised it could and should be persued as a full-time career. The rest was hard work and determination and I loved every moment of it.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

The best customers are the ones who aren't afraid to tell me what it is they want from the shoot. It can be from bringing in a pile of images that inspired them to telling me their story and being very honest about how they want their shoot to go and how they would like their images. It is in this way that I am able to give the best service to my customers, by listening to what they need from me.

What do you like most about your job?

The subject of the photoshoot is usually what I Iike best about my job, be it people or pets. There is no greater joy than to be able to capture the genuine personality of the one in front of my lens.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

To avoid disappointment, it is always important to ask the right questions to your photographer. These will come from asking yourself what it is you want from your photographer.  What 'style' of photography do you want?  If it is fun, candid and polished than I would be great for you!  It is always best to choose the photographer with the style you want.  Others may be, what output would you like your images, is that service provided by your photographer? Can you speak candidly with your photographer, do you get along?  The best images will come from how comfortable you are on the day.  If you don't like your photographer but they have rock bottom prices and on the day you are uncomfortable, unhappy and stressed, the images won't be the beautiful captured moments, you had imagined. The better your communication with your photographer the happier you will be with you images.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I have a simple questionnaire that I give customers to better understand and tailor the photoshoot to what they would like. Don't worry, they aren't exam questions it is just a way to help put your vision into words.

How do you normally charge for your service?

For general Portraiture there is a flat rate price, although please enquire for Wedding and Commercial photo shoots. Images are sold separately and can come as individual prints, packages with a variety of sizes, large prints, canvas and albums.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Predominately, I specialise in portraiture of people as well as pets and every now and again venture in the realms of food photography and Travel
