I was offered the chance to do floorsanding whilst working for a carpenter.After a period of time, seeing how it changes the look of the house and beautiful polished floors I decided to make this my career.

To be honest, not really, because every customer, every floor is unique and there is a different story on every job

I get to meet a lot of people and get to see a wide range of houses, also to change the look of the house once the floor is polished and sometimes the reaction of some people. Personally at the end of the job you can see a beautiful polished floor .

questions commonly asked are usually about price, sanding procedure, coatings ,availability for time of job. I answer the questions promptly and honestly.

Not only do I turn up for the quote on time but once start date is confirmed I turn up on time each morning or as arranged with client, I lock up or alarm premises at end of day as per clients instructions, and leave job site clean.

Provide prompt and reliable service and communication. Have been sanding/polishing in Adelaide since 2000,self employed since 2005. Licenced and Insured.

All that is sorted out at the quote, once floor size is measured the client needs to think about what coatings they want, what gloss level they want,is there any staining involved. Any floor coverings to be removed.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Normal practice is that client removes furniture themselves prior to start of job. Other than that the client can 1) punch nails 2) fill nail holes with putty and 3) if staining is involved, buy the stain. But client is responsible for colour of putty and stain!!

Having worked in the trade for a number of years, you get to know what the general square metre rate is, so when I quote I know that the client is getting a fair and reasonable price.

On floorsanding and polishing the charging is based on a square metre rate, as far as staircases, depends on the size.

Other than floorsanding and polishing I do a lot of sanding and polishing on staircases, both new existing in both domestic and commercial sites

Started sanding/polishing in Brisbane in 1993, and then in Adelaide since 2000. I worked for two large flooring companies in Adelaide before starting my own buisness in 2005. During this time I have become experienced in all facets of floor sanding and polishing.
