Alectrix is an Electrical Contracting business which has been in operation for 43 years during which time it has conducted Electrical Services to Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Rural installations.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
Alectrix has 43 years experience as a licensed electrical contractor for NSW, ACT and has an Australian Communications Licence which permits the wiring of new and the re-wiring of existing homes including fault finding and repairs to electrical installations including electrical lighting and power circuits. We service Solahart,Dux and Rheem hot water units.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
Alectrix specialises in fault finding and repairs to electrical installations including small electrical jobs. EG. Replacement of light fittings and the conversion of existing power points to 4 way power points.
How do you normally charge for your service?
Alectrix has a call out fee for small jobs which includes the first 30 minutes on site, thereafter an hourly rate. A quote can be arranged for larger jobs once a site inspection has been conducted.
What makes your pricing competitive?
Alectrix is a small company with low overheads and employs todays telecommunications technology which assists in keeping our pricing competitive.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
A client can save money by being organised and knowing exactly what their requirements are. Giving precise location of the site and parking facilities.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Alectrix can only supply a written quotation once a site visit has been conducted as it is not possible to quote a job unseen.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
Alectrix has a Public Liability cover of up to 10 million dollars and does guarantee all electrical installation work completed.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
Alectrix is reliable and will always arrive to the site at the agreed time and is completely trustworthy and considerate.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
Customers always ask how much does it cost ? when can we do it ? and when will it be finished ? Do you clean up at the completion of work ?
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
The customer should ask the professional contractor is he licenced ? does he have the knowledge to complete the work ? Does the contractor clean up at the completion of the work ? Does the contractor carry Public Liability Insurance.
What do you like most about your job?
Every job and day is different, meeting and engaging with different people who have varying requirements. Being able to solve the clients electrical problems and give advice.
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
Alectrix was requested to visit a home to repair a stove and attended the site on three occassions but there appeared to be no one at home. On arrival back at the workshop the secretary, who was the wife of the electrician who had been dispatched to complete the service call, said the client had just been on the phone and gave directions for the next day. The directions were and I quote. " I"ll be in bed, tell him to come right on in " !!!!! Yes, the electricians wife did speak to her husband about the incident.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
Alectrix grew up in a neighbourhood where an electrical contractors family lived and was almost a family member. I enjoyed solving problems and utilising tools to complete jobs.
