Ark 8 Architects is a progressive Melbourne-based architectural design studio dedicated to critical thinking and creative action in the built environment. Founded in 2011 by a core leadership team with over two decades of industry experience in Australia and internationally, Ark 8 combines honed technical skills and technological expertise with assured and continuing professionalism and a good dose of tactile creativity. These are the qualities which enable us to create buildings our clients can be proud of. We are experts in the housing sector - from the design of homes to multi-unit medium/high density residential developments. We understand the economics of yield and feasibility, and aim to provide value-adding solutions to your home or investment through astute architectural design and documentation. Passive environmental strategies form the cornerstone of our design approach. We believe in design solutions which are functional, responsive and responsible. All we produce - from homes to multi-unit residential projects to masterplans, are characterised by legibility. We aim to deliver projects which are a collaborative aggregation of opportunities and constraints, ideas and parameters - founded upon the requirements of the client. Kevin Lim, as director, has been in professional practice for almost 20 years, and is a registered architect in Victoria (Reg 16820). He has designed and delivered a host of high-profile housing projects all across Victoria.
