I have Professional Indemnity Insurance as per the ATO BAS Agent Certification Requirement. I am an accurate at recording the information and data that I am given, and as such guarantee my work.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My dad is an Accountant. He was always talking about different aspects of accounts and I took a real interest in it. Leaving school I did a Certificate in Business at TAFE to give me a broad range of office skills, got my first job and 12mths later ended up in an Accounts Department, and haven't changed since.

What do you like most about your job?

The thing I love most about bookkeeping is visiting with a variety of customers, working with them and suggesting changes for the better to improve efficiently. Generally I find that people have been stuck in a bit of a rut, doing the same things over and over for a while and love my suggestions and efficiencies.

For a bookkeeper, choosing an ATO Certified BAS agent is ensuring you that they know what they are doing and are qualified to do so. Once you've checked that, I think it's a lot about personality. I can't say that I'm the right person for you because I don't know your needs or your business. That's why I offer a chance to meet up free of charge to discuss all of that.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

My customers commonly ask me when I can come back. In the beginning we may need more visits to tidy things up and get them right. Later on we can figure out what works best for you going forward. I've never got too many clients onboard that I can't fit extra visits in.

I say what I'm going to do and I do it. I'm always flexible and put the needs of the client first. I wouldn't have more than a dozen clients without that trust and reliability.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I can provide an estimate of hours based on systems in place and workload to be done, but I can't provide a quote as such.  What I find happens is that people realise the strengths and opportunities they have through me, and we branch out to other tasks.  I can assure you that I work without distractions, quickly, accurately and fairly.

I can do a normal Accounts Persons fulltime role in 1 day.  Part of the ATO BAS Agent Certification requirement is that we are constantly learning, reading, attending courses and this can only benefits those clients that I work with.
