Because we work with carbon fibre poles up to 5 storeys we must be covered for working over 10m. Big Red Window Cleaning carry $20M (Unlimited Height) Public Liability.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I fell into it. After changing careers I started studying business and worked as a window cleaner (now competitor). I don't want to be too negative but it was a lot of work for very little return. I'd invested in my own vehicle and the return didn't cut it. I knew I could do better and did!

One day I was having my haircut at my usual hairdresser (I still drive 30min across town because they are the best), and while I was having my haircut, 1 lady saw my logo on my uniform and mentioned that a real estate agent she was using to sell her house had recommended Big Red Window Cleaning. It was really nice to hear that!

What do you like most about your job?

My favourite thing about window cleaning is discovering and implementing new technology. I am mad keen about Pure H2O and water fed poles. They have opened my eyes to new levels of safety and a whole new level of quality when it comes to clean windows.

Surprisingly the most common question we hear is, 'Can you clean them before the weekend? I have a party on.'   And our answer is almost always, 'Yes, we'll have those windows looking wonderful for your guests!'

Big Red Window Cleaning is a family run business. The owner is personally on site for all quotes and jobs to ensure satisfaction for our customers. We have spent years building relationships with our customers and get satisfaction ourselves from their happiness.

Aside from the high quality of work Big Red Window Cleaning provides, I would say because I am a good husband and father. Because I go into people's homes everyday and treat them like my own. Because if I wasn't trustworthy, how could I trust others.

If you'd like a rough price by email or over the phone we will need to know how many panels of glass there are. You can easily work this out by looking at our information page. It has pictures of common window types to help you out.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Although we are happy to do these, customers could remove flyscreens for easy cleaning. Open all the blinds or curtains. Move small furniture or delicate objects away from windows (Don't break your back though, leave the heavy stuff!).

Because we use the same pricing structure all year round for all suburbs we have a competitive edge over some that take advantage of seasonal changes or the demographic of the customer. We're probably not the cheapest however our quality and accountability sets us apart.

Every job is different because every house is different. We price based on a few factors such as number of windows, size and difficulty. We don't EVER price according to suburb or season!

Big Red Window Cleaning specialises in Water Fed Pole and Pure H2O cleaning. Using special filters to remove impurities from water to clean spot free and leave windows cleaner longer. We also provide protective coatings to pool fences and shower screens.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

There is not a lot of official 'Training' out there for window cleaners, however over the years I have been doing it I have taught myself so much. I actively engage with window cleaners in other states, the UK and USA to learn about the best ways of doing things. I also have a great relationship with our suppliers and invest in the best equipment.
