A business that operates without public liabiltity insurance should not be in business. I carry Public Liability insurance and guarantee my work will pass a tax audit

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Operating a small business, I used to spend a great deal of my time on the paperwork and money. My wife always thought I should have become an accountant. I decided later in life to do what I enjoy doing. I may not be an accountant, but bookkeeping and administration gives me enormous satisfaction

What do you like most about your job?

I like the variety of work and the people I work for. I work for many clients and find it very rewarding if I have been able to assist them in their business from either a Management reporting perspective or allowing them to bounce ideas off me. As a small business owner who interacts with many small business owners, I have picked up many ideas of how business owners operate their businesses, some good and some not so good, and I am very happy to share that information.

Firstly, is the service professional registered as as BAS agent.  What type of businesses does the professional work in. How can the professional assist in helping the business grow. Can the professional provide referees to support their claims

I can't speak personally for myself, but I am happy to supply references to a number of clients who I am currently bookkeeping for. All you need do is ask for their names and number

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Nine years of bookkeeping experience working exclusively for small business. Additionally, I am a Myob and Quickbooks trainer which is a cost saving if the client wants to take on some of the bookkeeping workload

1) Have all the necessary paperwork available, ie bank statements, invoices, cheque butts 2) If you can use Myob or quickbooks even a little, the amount of data you enter is a great cost saver 3)Explaining how your business works, so the bookkeeper is not guessing how to receive and spend money. What can take you a few extra seconds to do, could save your bookkeeper minutes or even hours,

What makes your pricing competitive?

A a small business owner, I keep my overheads as low as possible which I then pass on to my clients by the way of reduced prices. They still receive a premium service but at a price affordable to the level of expertise required.

Depending on the nature of the work, I the charges may be hourly, or per the job specified or a retainer. This is something I always discuss with the client before commencing
