All trades that I use on the projects are insured and we are fine and we never had any accident.  And of course we guarantee our work

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

By accident when I was just 16 years old; my friends dad was an architect and he said that I do have a great sense for colours. He offered me small jobs around his workload whenever I had a free time (as I was still in school at that time) and I started gaining some knowledge and experience then and fell in love with profession. Many years later, and many other schools, Uni and jobs later, I decided to go back to Interior design, finished the study and started practising it. I found what I love to do and stick to it.

What do you like most about your job?

As I said before I love what I do and I really like to interact with people. Every project is a new challenge for me and on every project I am a teacher as well as pupil who will learn something. As much knowledge as we have there is always something new on projects that we gain knowledge from and I really enjoy that experience. Also to se the face of the Client at the end of the project is priceless!

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Clients are usually confused with colours and furniture placement.  Sometimes they think we have to do much more than we will as some small changes that we as professionals point out could turn everything around and make such an impact. Sometimes when we choose the right wall colour that will change the look of kitchen cabinets and at the end client will not change them; sometimes we just paint existing pieces of furniture to give a new lease of life and that is all needed to revamp the space. We know what needs to be done to make a big impact on a small budget, or to make great space with a big budget, that is why we are experts and that is why you are paying us to help you with!

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

In my opinion if you like what you do that will show and my clients could see that I am not doing this for money but for love of good design and that certainly makes me reliable and trustworthy person.

I am very passionate in what I do and I love what I do so I will do my best to help every and each of my client to achieve their best and make their space the best it could be. At the same time I always try to educate everyone around me some basic principles of good interior design and that quality is more important than quantity and by doing that my clients realised that they can have more organised space and life and be more happy and relaxed so at the end we are all winners!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I really need to know the quality clients are after and budget is very important to me so I can be sure that we can use certain materials and services and of course sometimes time is crucial as that can also reduce or increase the price of the project. I need to know if clients are willing to participate in project by doing some things like shopping on their own for some items, or they would like us to start and finish everything without their involvement… I called that a surprise project! Of course before we start any work we will discuss all options with client first and then when job is finished we will just reveal it to client - it is always a great surprise.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Mostly I charge per hourly rate, which is $120 plus GST, but on some special jobs we will agree on special price/one off fee or percentage fee, which ever rate is better for my client we will do that way My goal is to have satisfied and happy client at the end of each project

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in colour selection, pure silk and pure linen window treatments, custom made furniture and space planing/organizing but I can do a heaps of other design jobs as well. These days I am very involved in making floor plans for new luxury homes so you see my workload is very flexible.
