Cakes By Mel Christening And Wedding Cakes

Mel is the owner and director of 'Cakes by Mel'. Mel's passion for cake decorating began in 2010 when she enrolled at the Sutherland Community College, to complete the beginner course in cake decorating; for a little 'alone' time from being a new mum to twin girls, Alicia and Jessica.It didn't take long, and Mel's talents and passion for the art of cake decorating soon took hold. With the encouragement from her family and friends, many cakes were created and enjoyed. Mel continued attending courses; intermediate level at Sutherland Community College and a short Wilton Cake Decorating Class, followed by completion of Foundation 1, 2 and 3 at the revered Whimsical Cakehouse Sydney.The most exciting course and turning point for Mel has been recently when she completed the Vintage Bloom 2 day course facilitated by International Cake Artist, Peggy Porschen. Mel's training is ongoing and she is well on her way in completing the Intermediate series also at Whimsical Cakehouse.Mel enjoys completing cakes for all occasions but in particular loves completing wedding cakes with an emphasis on sugar art flowers.
