We have indemnity insurance along with third party insurance for the work that we complete for Eastern States solicitors as well as local agents who are not located in Perth or unable to attend to settlements within the 10 km radius as required.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Opportunity presents, and in our case, moving from country Western Australia to the city enable us to purchase a business which enable us to still complete work in the country and the Perth market. We have also had the please of seeing our three children work in the business, with our eldest daughter Grace now being a qualified conveyancer aslo.

In some cases we are dealing with a First Home Buyer, who are excited but unsure to developers on a large scale who have complex and challenging matters. What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The location of the property, type of property (ie; residential, commercial, rented property). This way it enables us to provide a quote reflecting the work required to complete the transaction. If the property is leased we need to obtain a copy of that lease or have that assigned. It is also important to know if all parties are available to sign documents, as we require original documents to be signed - in some cases, this can be arrange before someone leaves for overseas or away for work (FIFO workers)

For seller's, ensure that they have contacted there mortgagee bank to prepare the required discharge of mortgage or if the property is unencumbered, they can locate the required certificate of title. 2. For Buyer's, ensure that they apply for finance quickly and provide a copy to us when approved. 3. In settlements, time is of the essence, so please communicate information and provide reports in a timely manner to ensure that we can protect your rights.
