How did you decide to get into your line of work?

After my father suffered from serious back pain and was told an operation was the only solution, he sought the assistance of a chiropractor.  The chiropractor fixed his problem and he didn't have an operation.  This is what initially got me interested in chiropractic spinal care.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

With about 25 years experience, I am able to determine the most probable cause of a patients symptoms and proceed with confidence without the need for X-rays, MRI's or CT scans.  Symptoms that I can assist  include back & neck pain, headaches, hip & shoulders, sciatica and others.  Through my thorough diagnosis, I have accurately determined kidney stones, disc injuries and bone cancer.

What do you like most about your job?

Assisting patients overcome long term muscular skeletal problems gives me enormous satisfaction. In addition, assisting athletes achieve their goals through improved body balance, increased spinal strength and flexibility and full range of motion is great to see. Chiropractic care also minimises sport injury.  Seeing the improvement in health of patients who have been putting up with their problems is gratifying.  Whether it's eliminating back or neck pain, improving the mobility of the elderly or seeing babies feeding and sleeping better, all of these are rewarding to see.  I thoroughly enjoy helping people achieve their health goals.

Who does Steven treat? Steven's expertise is in back & neck dysfunction. He sees athletes who are wanting to optimise their flexibility and range of motion while improving performance and minimising their chances of injury.  He sees babies and mothers who have experienced a difficult birth within days of the babies arrival.  There is no age limit.  There is very little that Steven has not addressed in 24 years of practice.

Do your need an x-ray-----In 95% of cases-  NO.    If necessary, they will be bulk-billed. Do you need to undress each time you visit - - NO.  Only on the first visit will it be necessary for a gown to be worn during the comprehensive examination.  Not on future visits,

Steven's practice in Black Rock grew from word of mouth 18 years ago.  He has been able to assist and diagnose problems when other practitioners have not been able to help.  His 24 years of experience enables him to assess your condition accurately and recognise when other factors are involved and then refer you.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Because everyone has individual needs, it is difficult to make a judgement without a full case history and examination. Generally if you haven't had your symptom for a long time, then you will respond quicker compared to another person who has put up with the problem for some time.  It all varies.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Our fees are reasonable because we are a family owned business.  We believe everyone should have access to chiropractic spinal care.  In this respect we also offer a family rate of $132 for one family consultation (Available after initial & second consult).

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Payment is on the day of the consultation. The first two sessions are the longest.  The initial consultation is $75 - adults,  $65 - Children (0- 17yrs)  The second consultation is $65- adults & $55 - children.  Standard consultations are $45 & $40.

Steven is focused in family and sport spinal chiropractic care,  He employs a variety of techniques tailored to suit each individual.  His techniques include: Gonstead, Diversified, Activator, Network Spinal Analysis, Sacro Occipital Technique, Cranio Sacral Technique, Bowen & Trigger Point Therapy.
