Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Yes, I guarantee my work. There are numerous checks and cross checks that have to be made before figures are finalised. If, on the very rare occasion an error occurs, it will be rectified free of charge. I will be obtaining insurance along with my BAS agent application.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

When I left school I went to Advanced Secretarial College in Sydney. It was not my first choice of career but I actually enjoy the variety of bookkeeping there are so many directions one can take.

One lady had years of backlog to work through. We got the current year up to date and worked together over a period of time to catch up with the rest. We actually became good friends.

I actually love to organise, and I don't mind it when I am given a backlog of paperwork to put in order. I have always loved maths and enjoy a challenge. I also like my customers. Most of them are self employed and very nice people.

What is the process of bookkeeping? I assess your needs and come up with a plan for efficient bookkeeping, continually streamlining the process as we go along. I encourage open communication and ensure that the client has access to information at all times.

As well as being a bookkeeper I also have an employment history with Centrelink. Confidentiality, accuracy and efficiency were paramount to keep up with the day to day workload.

I have done bookkeeping for over 30 years. Since the GST introduction in 2001 I have used a number of accounting systems. My hours are flexible and I can either work at your office or from my home. I tailor my service to meet the needs of your business and streamline procedures for cost effectiveness for each client.

I assess the customer's needs, then I explain what steps they can take to save money. That could be filing receipts in chronological order. Adding up receipts or invoices and providing totals to minimise data entry. Providing any previous files or paperwork showing chart of accounts

I do not charge a prospective client for the initial consultation. Depending on the distance, I do not include travel time in my quotes

Depending on the size of the business I like to process data either weekly or monthly. I would invoice accordingly and require payment within 7 days.

I enjoy bookkeeping. No job is too hard. I don't mind it when I am given a box full of receipts to wade through and organise. Weird..... but I like it :)

I have a Certificate IV in bookkeeping, Certificate IV in Business Administration and a TAA in training. I have developed and delivered bookkeeping courses for the Community College and CASS. I have had a broad range of experience across different industries eg hospitality, cafes, various retail outlets, cleaning, carpet cleaning, medical, various trades and childcare.
