How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I was part of a family run timber flooring business for many years. It was there I gained most of my experience and my great interest in timber flooring.

What do you like most about your job?

I find my job very satisfying and rewarding. I like seeing a tired old timber floor brought back to life and the happiness that it brings to customers when they are pleased with the results.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Accepted Answer

I believe in achieving the result that the customer is after and ensuring that the customer is 100% happy with the outcome of their floor. I am a self employed business owner who takes extreme pride in my work and truly believe I go above and beyond to accommodate the customer.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The size of the area is always handy but I do provide obligation free quotes and I will do a proper measure up of the area. If you have some sort of idea on the finish you are after it will help to know what product is required and the cost involved.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

Customers can save money by ensuring their timber floor is ready for sanding when I arrive. If any staples for example remain in the flooring this can take several hours to remove and therefore costing the customer.  Removing floor coverings such as carpet and vinyl is a service provided at a charge but can work out cheaper if the customer can do this themselves.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I believe my prices are fair. I refuse to substitute quality products for lower prices and believe my charges remain competitive. I strongly advise customers to discuss what products will be used on their floor.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Floorsanding and polishing is normally charged out based on the size of the area as well as he product and finish that is desired by the customer. All options can be discussed with the customer and free quotes provided.

I have been working in Floorsanding and polishing for over ten years and believe my experience is reflected in the quality of work I display.
