How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Animals and the environment have always been my greatest passion in life. I have spent a lot of time over seas working on conservational projects that protect the Orangutan and Mountain Gorilla and their habitats and I continue to do so whenever possible. I have always had a unique connection with dogs and understood how they work. It was when I was in Kisoro Uganda being followed by several dogs in a place where people have no respect for dogs and absolutely no understanding of their beautiful ability to be truly selfless, loyal and the best friend a person can have, that I realised what I wanted to do in life. I was in a place surrounded by poverty where children have nothing and are scared of dogs. I made a decision to try an educate people about these beautiful animals and the friendship and love they offer. I began teaching people in Africa the most basic concepts of k9 and human friendship, watching people go from fearing dogs to respecting and loving them and developing a friendship is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life! So I decided that is what I wanted to do with my life!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I honestly enjoy every consult and spend quite some time laughing with my clients, particularly when I get a call about a puppy that steals their mums underwear from her drawers and offers them to visitors as a welcome gift!

What do you like most about your job?

Being able to assist people in understanding their dogs and why they behave in certain ways, allows me to help people to develop one of the most beautiful friendships they will ever experience. I am so grateful to be able to do what I love and am most passionate about in life every single day.

What is the experience of the service provider. Has the service provider dealt with the behaviours you need assistance with in the past and if so what were the results.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Most common questions relate to specific behavioural issues such as, lead pulling, recall training, dog aggression, puppy toilet training, anxiety based behaviours and the list goes on. My answer is simple, no dog is born bad or with behavioural issues and if you are prepared to commit to the process and provide the required training and management any behaviour can be corrected!

This is my greatest passion in life! I do this because I genuinely love and care for all animals and want to help as many people as I can to enjoy the beautiful selfless friendship that dogs offer us. I never end a consultation until the client is satisfied with the results.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!!! I have thousands and thousands of hours of experience working with and being amongst dogs and puppies in every situation and environment possible. This is what I do and have done this full time 7 days a week for over 15 years.  I have several qualifications including, Diploma in Canine Aggression Cert IV in Canine Psychology and Behaviour, Cert in Animal Behaviour and currently studying an advance diploma in Canine Behavioural Management. I will continue to study to keep up to date with the latest science based techniques in Canine Behavioural Management. If you're looking for an ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL to assist you with rescue dogs or any form of behavioural reactivity, I would advise you make sure they have a minimum of ten years full time experience and a minimum of 5 years full time experience for basic behaviour and puppy training. Ask what methods they use and simply hang up if they use any form of dominance or force based training. If you have a trainer that treats your dog with anything other than love understanding and respect ask them to leave immediately and review them and your experience. I hate the word industry but this industry is unregulated and any one with little or NO experience or qualifications can start a web site and claim to be a trainer or behavioural consultant. I am appalled at some of the stories my clients have told me of previous experience with someone claiming to be a trainer or behaviourist that has come to their home and frightened or even hurt their dog. DO NOT STAND FOR IT!!!!  I will love your angel as if they're my own and do everything that I am capable of to help you to modify and manage any behaviour that you do not understand or need assistance with. Dogs are simply my purpose in life and I am a guardian to every single one of them and you will know this of me as soon as we meet.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

The age, sex, breed and the history of the dog. A brief description of the behavioural issue and how the client has dealt with the behaviours prior to contacting me.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Call me and discuss the behavioural issues you are experiencing with your dog and I am more than happy to give you advice over the phone, if you are unable to correct the issue yourself after my advice, you can book a consult. All advice over the phone is free!

Just compare my fees to others in the industry. I do this because it is my passion and I want people to have the best possible relationship with their dogs. I want to help people understand just how special our k9 family members are and I often work around clients budgets.

Cost of consults depend on the service that is required and consults can be paid for via electronic funds transfers or cash. Consults are not finished until the client is satisfied with the results we achieve.

I have and do work with all angels, from brand new baby puppys, rescue dogs, adult dogs, adolescents to the wisest and oldest of angels .
