How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Once i started my apprenticeship back in 2003, i had a image that one day i would be trying to start my own catering company. As time when on and i qualified as a chef i decided to start the company part time and see where it leads me to. Today i still work part time and still get the enjoy life with my family in the hope that starting a cafe is in the near future.

Yes i do have a favourite customer story. It starts with everyone who talks to me or wants to get a quote or book with us. i believe that every client is treated that same. With respect and the knowledge to understand the reason why they have pick our company to cater for their event.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy running Goodwin's Catering because it gives me the flexibility to have more family time but also to meet and work with new people. one thing i do enjoy is making people happy through food. i love when people compliment my food that i have work hard on for them.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Whenever you have a event always have questions. Always get the total amount and make sure you get for what you paid for. double check and confirm times and ask for a running sheet of the event. At Goodwin's we have always provided a running sheet of how and when we are servicing food. Commutations will always help in stressful situations

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

The one question i always get asked is. Will that be enough food for the event? We have always had enough food for all event. Different events depending on times will determine how long your food will last. you could order 50 pieces of food for 100 people. it wont last long. you could order 700 pieces for 20 people. you will be eating for a week after. At Goodwin's we are here to help you make the right choice and help in every way. we are always striving to do our best and be as helpful as we can be.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

We are a family owned and run business. We provide customised service for each of our catering functions. All of our staff hold food handlers certificates, and there is always someone on site with a first aid certificate. Most of our functions (unless DIY) come with a fully qualified chef and one waiter/waitress to serve your food.

First and for most, always get a few quotes. in the past a few people have just jumped in and then realised it was the wrong choice. when planning your event come speak to us at Goodwin's and we can help you plan out your day and see where you can save more money.  1 research 2 compare 3 always agree before you start to commit

What makes your pricing competitive?

Our prices are at a good range. Of course we might not all ways be the cheapest but we will always be the most helpful and most understanding when it comes to dietary requirements and flexibility. Our packages can range from $5- $25 per head.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Most functions are done via a per head price. This price is dependent on the amoun tof choices you receive and type of food (i.e. finger food, buffet, a la carte etc).

We specialise in all sort of aspects in hospitality. customer service, variety and taste are three of the main areas that we try to offer at our highest to gain repeat of service and so they client knows that they are being well looked after.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Our Chef's are fully trained and have completed there apprenticship in commercial cookery. Our wait stuff have first aid certificates and food and alcohol service safety certificates. We only hire experienced staff to complete functions.
