How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I started as an electrician and went into partnership with a friend. that fell apart several years later at which time i was a sole trader, the problem was i could not service my loyal data base, so in 2004 we bought Gosford Air and the rest is history, good on time service at a reasonable price works wonders.

We have a lot of great loyal customers and if they ever have hardship in life we like to help. As little as a bunch of flowers or a dinner voucher to istalling ducted air conditioning into 2 homes in the last couple of years to families who have terminally ill family members.  it is great to be able to give something back to the local community.

due to the size of our company it is a great place to work, we are small enough to still care but big enough to provide quality service year round. our qualified staff also enjoy there job as we provide all the quality tools and safety equipment to make their job easy and knowing they will make it home safely to their family each night.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

before employing a contractor to do a job you should ask the following questions. - are they an authorised agent for the product they are installing. - are they an authorised warranty agent so if you do have an issue you can deal with the same company that installed the system. - do they have a show room so if you are not happy with the servie you are getting you can go and stand at reception until the boss comes in. - do they have a service department because during summer and winter our industry gets extremely busy and that is when you need your air conditioner to be repaired quickly.

At Gosford Air we send our technicians to courses every year to keep up to date with changing technologies. We supply numerous brands to ensure we provide a product thats suits your exact needs and budget. We believe in old fashioned customer service and our phones are answered by people not machines. We come to you to take the guess work out of the air conditioner of the equation and install a system that is just right on your budget and on going running costs.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

We have a minimum of 2 people on the phones every day to ensure you can contact us. We also have a service manager and a service co-ordinator to follow up on spare parts and repairs, this way we know we can give the best follow up service on the coast.

We will be here for the long haul, we have to much ibvested in our business and staff to just say ive had enough and move onto new ventures. We love our line of work and our great bubbly staff top it off.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

upon site inspection we check the house out ensuring the roof will fit and support the air conditioner, we check the electrical mains to the home as a lot of homes have undersized mains. we check the location of the wall split will fit and be comfortable and not blow cold air directly on you.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

If you have a copy of the plns of your home this can save time and money however we will not install air conditioning without a full site inspection. if you know an electrician to run the mains this can save you money. Cleaning your filters regularly (monthly if used a lot) will lower running cost.

We are not all about price, because we are factory trained we can usually repair faulty products much quicker and we get it right first time, there is no guess work.

We take cash, cheque and credit card. payment is due on the day however can set up payment plans to help you out if in difficult circumstances. We also have direct debit for larger purchases.

We specialise in residential and light commercial and industrial. We will contact you every year for maintenance and also set up commercial routine maintenance contracts.

We employ only qualified refrigeration mechanics and electricians so we take care of the entire job from start to finish. we have an in house mechanical engineer for all our commercial works.
