Partly by default. I always intended to study and pursue the graphic design market. I was fortunate enough to discover film photography, opportunities flowed and I have known no other career.

- Develop a strong brief or story board. Know what you what to achieve.  - Seek the photographers input when developing the brief. Give thought to location, props and timing. Having all the elements in place saves time and ensure strong results.

I travel with 15 years of experience across the creative and print industries. I was formally trained as a photojournalist. Laying the foundations of my career holding staff positions for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald. I graduated to hold senior bureau positions before returning to Melbourne as a senior features Photographer and Picture Editor. I departed Fairfax in 2005 to develop my own brand, Heath Missen - Photographer. I relocated to Byron Bay, January 2010.
