Yes, we stand by our work 100% and are always willing to resolve any issues that may arise as a direct result of work performed, although we've not yet had to deal with this situation.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

At a young age I would rebuild motorcycle engines with my father, who is an engineer by trade. Needless to say, this gave me an amazing head start, but it was my passion for motorcycles and later cars that drove me to pursue a career in this industry.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

A good friend of mine and fellow mechanic had a problem with his late model four wheel drive. He was unable to diagnose it and as I was away at the time, he had taken it to three other mechanics and paid in excess of $1500, still with no diagnosis. He arranged to bring it to me and I had the problem fixed and the car out the door the same day for less than $300.

What do you like most about your job?

I take pride in my work and this is reflected in every job I do. I keep a super clean workshop with everything in it's place and this makes coming to work every day enjoyable and productive.

Most customers like to know a ballpark figure to allow them to budget for the expense. My basic services are a flat rate and I then provide a report and quote on any further work to be performed.

I have a long history of customer service and have won many awards for performance in this area and pride myself on getting work done right the first time. Most of Ignite's work is referral based from happy customers.

Details about the car including month/year, make/model and engine type. A description of the chain of events leading to the problem. If there are any pre-existing problems with the vehicle.

1 - Give a thorough description of the perceived problem. 2 - Be honest about the situation, not embarrassed. 3 - Give a background on any recent work done to the vehicle.

How do you normally charge for your service?

My fees are based on an hourly rate for labour, plus parts. If a job is completed in less time than expected or outlined by the manufacturer, I charge only for the time spent on the job.

I have such a broad knowledge of mechanical principles that specialising in one particular field would not see my talents utilised to their full potential. I like variety in my work and I am always up for a challenge or something new and interesting.
