How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Ive always loved animals Wanted to be a vet or a vet nurse BUT being a single mum it wouldn't have been feasible so i settled for grooming at a vet clinic were i learnt heaps and circumstances lead to me starting own business

i think it would have to be seeing the transformation of a scruffy unkept pooch who can look very unloved to a smooth neat tidy pooch that they whole family wants to cuddle

I love animals in general BUT the best thrill i have is having an aggressive dog who needs muzzling in the start who after a few grooms can be groomed without the muzzle as ive gained their trust and they know im not a threat to them

Can the groomer handle aggressive dogs If dog can be so  Have they groomed the breed of dog before  If you want to watch while dog is being groomer Check that groomer will allow you to stay

How long i will be at their place for? on average 45 min to an hour for full clip and wash shorter for just a wash. For more than one dog average 45 min per dog. Do i pluck ears and clip nails? Yes to both AND its included in the price quoted. Do i have to go really short  ?NO  If coat doesn't have matts i can leave a length on 1.9 cm IF the coat is matted has to go short to get blades under the matts  My dog can be quite snappy will you groom him still?  Yes i will groom them BUT i will also muzzle them if needed I give evry dog a chance even my aggressive ones.

I am always on time to appointments. I listen to what clients want and clip their dogs they way they want them.I dont let a dog off my table until they are groomed to a degree i would be happy accepting my own dog back in.

Im prepared to take the time needed for your pet to be comfortable with me. I also listen to how you want your dog to look. I dont just take haircut back to shortest If coat is not matted i can and will do longer clips. I also have experience with difficult and aggressive dogs. I clip cats as well

Breed of dog OR cat General size of animal   condition that the coat is in IF really matted will take longer and cost more  If animal is aggressive or can be snappy

If you wash your pet on a regular basis and only want me to clip the hair off i charge $10 less. Brushing dogs coat on a regular basis between clips will keep the cost down

my regular grooming, multiple dog and pensioner discounts allow me to compete with other groomers. I regularly check on mobile grooming prices and working at a shop i know salon prices so i can keep prices down

Clip only starts from $50 small dog  Puppy or sanity clips start from $30 Extra may be charge for very matted dogs I offer multiple dog discount for 2 or more. I also offer pensioner and regular booking discounts.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

the majority of my work seems to be the small to medium fluffies who need clipping or brushing out. As i dont have a trailer i dont do a lot of wash only's.IF other groomers have given up on grooming your pooch IM prepared to give it a go.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I did a short grooming course through TAFE after that I went to a north eastern vet were for the 1st week i worked with another groomer after which i worked alone in 4 of the clinics. When i left there i started my own business and ive since contracted myself out to another vet AND im currently contracted to a grooming salon 3 days a week.
