Lisa hired Lion & Cub Photography for their Wedding Photographer job.
Nikki was great to work with and her pictures speak for themselves. She was very accomodating, especially with our 4 month old baby. We will definitely be looking at organising more photo shoots with Nikki in the future.

We hired Nikki to take family portraits in our home of our newborn & toddler. I found that she made us all feel relaxed, knew how to safely pose our newborn and the results were so gorgeous! There is a photo of my son holding his baby sister that melts my heart!

Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
I have over 15 years experience in portrait and even photography. I can guarantee that you will be satisfied with the product, and in the case of family photography will offer a reshoot. I am aware of safety procedures when photographing newborns, and use a child entertainer when there are more than two children for family portraits to ensure a fantastic result. I am able to use studio lighting or natural light and a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of photography.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
Nikki’s photographic career began in 2001, after graduating with distinction from National Art School, a centre of excellence which has nurtured the talents of many acclaimed Australian artists. Subsequently she established a wedding, portrait & event photography business operating from Incubator Studios in Surry Hills, Sydney. The narrative and artistic strength of her photographs has led to exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne, and she has won several awards in Sydney, including the “Project Wall” at The Australian Centre for Photography, (2001). Nikki has been a finalist in “Shutterbug” held at the Chauvel Cinema (2007) in Paddington, and exhibited in Hyde Park in “Art & About”, Sydney, (2004) and am a finalist this year too! Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
Family photography and weddings. I specialise in 7-12 day newborn shoots in the comfort of the family's home, and also capturing the love between siblings. I also love capturing the sense of occasion and joy at weddings. Lighting, posing and directing my subjects is another learned skill, gathered from over 15 years experience. Anyone can take a photo these days, but I aim to create an artwork.
How do you normally charge for your service?
I have set rates for each type of job. For example a headshot/profile is $350 per job, a wedding will be charged by the hour and a family portrait sitting attracts a fee of $150.
What makes your pricing competitive?
I have researched the market as I am a writer for Capture Magazine and am aware of what competitors charge from being at trade shows. My prices are competitive considering I offer a finished product that has been retouched, colour corrected and printed on professional archival paper (rather than just handing over a raw file).
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?
If you book me for a party with a minimum of 3 hrs I give a discount. There is also another special of a two for one headshot package where two friends can have their head shots photographed together for $350. My final offer is for dance schools or childcare centres - free centre photography for websites when booked to do class and individual photos.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Whether the shoot takes place at my studio or their home or location of choice. What kind of investment they are interested in making - e.g. wall art, photo book, prints or digital files How long the job is anticipated to go for?
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
Yes I have public liability insurance to the value of $20 million and equipment insurance. I do guarantee my work with a reshoot if the client is not happy with the images, or if it rains or a child is unwell.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I have always love photography and taking photos of my friends, pets and of beaches. I grew up in Evans Head and was very inspired by the North Coast lifestyle and had a fantastic mentor who inspired me from the aged of 13.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
What their qualifications and experience are. If they are insured. Whether they are using an assistant and if there will be any post production, retouching and what the final product is.
What do you like most about your job?
Meeting families and witnessing the amazing dynamics between them. Enjoying celebrations such as weddings and parties and exploring other cultures. Capturing a babies first smile and seeing the love and fascination between siblings with their new baby.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I have insurance and excellent camera gear. I am older and have experience dealing with client expectations. I have qualifications in teaching ESL English so can communicate well with people from different ethnic backgrounds.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
How much does it cost? It depends on what you order. It is an investment and these photos are to be treasured as family heirlooms. Do you give digital files? They are available only with the purchase of a product
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
