• How did you decide to get into your line of work?

  Avid shutterbugs since high school, it didn't take long for us to find ourselves immersed in Melbourne's iconic events and entertainment scene. From capturing an array of events, from birthdays to the rowdiest of university galas, only one celebration captured our hearts and truly challenged our creative passions: weddings. After a brief stint of being solo wedding photographers, founders Josh and Johnny decided to team up, and amalgamate their talents into the award winning powerhouse Love Above is today.

• Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

  Perhaps not the most tear jerking or a story that tugs at the heartstrings, but definitely a story about resilience and hardiness. The date was February 12, 2021. The following day, the team had been booked to capture the gorgeous wedding of Grace and Dylan. We'd spent the past few months chatting with them, sorting out the finer details, and getting hyped up for what was meant to be the perfect celebration. Then, as we are all too familiar in these uncertain times, came a snap 5 day lockdown which was effectively poised to cancel the upcoming weekend, and with it, Grace and Dylan's special day. Most would've postponed, wondering if they'll ever get to have the wedding they always dreamed of. Not Grace, who, with a mere few hours notice, gave us a call to notify us that they were bringing their wedding a full day ahead, and would be getting married that very night, mere hours before the lockdown began. Dylan was allowed to leave work early for a quick shower and haircut, the venue staff rushed to decorate, and we wrapped up affairs on our end and made it all the way to Seaford just in time. Amid the franticness, the night was nothing sort of magical. Sure, perhaps a few decorative elements were missing, but all that didn't matter, as this amazing couple danced the night away, surrounded by those who matter most.
