How did you decide to get into your line of work?

After studying business administration I have worked for 20 years in advertising. That's where I could witness the growing possibilities of large format digital printing. I have run a company in Germany that was providing digital prints for interior design before moving to Australia. My mission now as Mister Wallpaper is to help Australian customers to realise their dreams and create fantastic rooms with our custom printed wallpaper murals.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We were hired by an architect who has renovated with his partner a terraced house over many years and they have always talked about large drawing of a Geisha for their bed room. Just before the renovation was finished the architects partner dies tragically. To fulfill the dreams of the couple when the renovation was finished, we printed and installed a large Geisha wallpaper mural, designed by a graphic designer, in the bedroom. Unfortunately only to be admired by the widower.

The best about my job as Mr Wallpaper is to see the reaction when the wallpaper is installed and how this changes the room, its atmosphere and its value of spending time in it. The main question my customers ask in the first place is about the removal of the wallpaper. As many have heard or experienced the sometimes tedious removal of traditional wallpaper, we are only using modern, non-woven wallpaper and a special paste from Germany that makes it very easy to remove the wallpaper without damaging the wall. As the wallpaper material and the paste is not available in Australia, we import the printed wallpaper and the paste directly from Germany and send it straight to the customer via FedEx.

Please provide always the size of the wall/walls (like 4 x 2.5 m). Information like " one bed room" or "two walls" is not good enough to calculate an installation. Also "three rolls" gives us only a rough idea of the wall size. If you just compare our pricing with competitors you will find our yourself. Your wallpaper costs are calculated automatically when you type into the website order panel the size of the wall. Fkat fee shipping costs of $25 throughout Australia. We calculate the prints to your desired measurements. you don't have to deal with limited sizes. Also: the larger the wallpaper the smaller the price per square metre.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Custom printed wallpaper is calculated by the size of the printed wallpaper. The installation is calculated by square metres of the wall. Just check out our website, type in the size of your wallpaper into that panel on the right hand side and you will get a price right away. Installation of the custom printed wallpaper is between $30 - 38 + GST including the paste.
