Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We are fully insured for all of our mechanical repairs that we carry out. All customers' vehicles are insured whilst in our custody, especially when we roadtest your pride and joy. New parts normally come with twelve months warranty and any secondhand parts that we supply come with minimum three months/5000km (whichever is first) as standard.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

At the age of 13yrs (many many years ago) I used to like pulling things apart to see how they worked. After pulling my push bike apart many times and putting it back together, I got quite good. Then some of my friends wanted me to fix their bikes and as I used to buy so many parts from the bike shop, they asked me if I wanted a Saturday job fixing customer bikes for them. From there I went on to playing with motorbikes then when I left school at 16yrs I took an interest in cars. So that's where my journey began, somewhere in the south of England.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We had a vehicle towed in a few years ago. The customer complained that it made a funny sound when started and there was a smell of burning rubber coming from under the bonnet. The breakdown service that attended suspect the alternator maybe seized. After looking under the bonnet with my torch to my amazement I found a cat had decided to take a snooze under the bonnet and had been caught down the back of the engine close to the alternator. The cat was removed after cutting the alternator belt and I am happy to say the cat survived and was reunited with its amazed owner. As for the car, a new belt was fitted and the customer drove the car away.

What do you like most about your job?

When we get a car in that other garages have tried to fix and all they have done is wasted the customers time,  emptied their wallet and the problem has not been solved. When we find the problem and fix it, the gratitude and the smiles on the customers face are worth their weight in gold.

Are you licenced by the appropiate industry board and whats your licence number? Are you or your staff fully qualified in the areas of services you are requesting? Can you give references from previous work you have carried out?

The most common questions we get asked are whats the problem with my car and whats it going to cost me?  Unfortunately these questions are difficult to answer without first looking at the car. If you let us take a look at your car we will be truthfull and give you a fair and honest price for the job required to get you back on the road.

We believe that giving someone the right advice and service without ripping them off can be very rewarding. We pride our business on the workmanship, after all, ninety percent of our business is from referrals.

We are honest and trustworthy. We are a West Australian family owned and operated business and we have been in the motor industry for over 20 years. We can cater for all your motoring needs.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Before we can give you a competitive quote for the work you require on your vehicle we require full vehicle details. This includes the make, model, month and year of manufacture, engine code and type and whether the vehicle is manual or automatic. A chassis number in full will help us too so we can quote the right price first time.

A complete and transparent explanation of the problems with your vehicle will save you time and money in the long run. Remember, the quicker we can diagnose your vehicle fault the cheaper it is for you. So many mechanics waste peoples time and money on a wrong diagnosis because they don't have the right experience and tools to accurately diagnose. Diagnose right the first time!!

As we are a member of a motor trade co-op we have the group buying power for our new car parts and have access to over 300 suppliers in Australia. We also deal with secondhand car parts dealers and wreckers where necessary.

How do you normally charge for your service?

When we are presented with a job we can charge by the hour or part there of. Depending on the type of job, we can do it on a fixed price. We can supply all the parts that are required (generally cheaper than if you went to the parts place and purchased them yourself). We accept cash, credit card or eftpos transactions.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Although we can service, maintain and/or fix most vehicles, part of our business is in the repair and maintainence of manual and automatic gearboxes. We supply and fit clutches and carry out diff repairs. We can also supply and fit new tyres to your vehicle.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

The proprietor personally holds city and guilds qualifications in the repair and maintainence of light vehicles as well as an arc aircon licence. He was trained in the south of England and has been qualified for over twenty years. We employ two other fully qualified mechanics and we have one apprentice who is in his second year.
