Yes we are an insured business and Yes we guarantee our work.  All Works carried out by ONEair are undertaken by qualified tradesmen and as such it carries a 6 year warranty on workmanship.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

My sister had her first child and became part of a mothers group (as they do!). She became friends with another lady and her husband ran his own company. I got on extremely well with them and to this day I count them as my best friends, to which he is the Godfather of my second daughter! I started working for him in the capacity of installer and havent looked back since!

My favorite customer story is when I help someone and they agree to use me to make a change in their home, then that is an awesome feeling. I am effecting families and how they go about their lives everyday by my recommendations and how a system is installed. so my favorite customer story is when a job is finished and done right!

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Experience. I have been doing this for a long time and I have seen "representatives" of companies attend without ever installing anything in their entire lives. They have an agenda to push a product on you because that is what they are told to sell. I will listen and then make a suggestion based on your structure type and application repuired.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

What star rating do I recommend? Different circumstances call for different applications. The easiest answer to that would be 5 or 6 star, however the time frame you are staying at a residence may also be a contributing factor.  You may even want to consider a bonaire 4 star which has the capacity to modulate down to 10% capacity and rely more on zoning technology for savings than trying to save money by running the whole house on a high efficient unit. By lowering the star rating and increasing zones, you will achieve the same savings and greater long term savings in future.

I like to think I get it right everytime! I am human and I do make mistakes, when I do I take it very personally. When it comes to my job I am a bit of a perfectionist and I like to get it done right. My general philosophy is do it right do it once. The old saying measure twice and cut once comes to mind.

I am a family man opperating a family business. It may be a business but I have never forgotten that it is about customer service firstly and being approachable about anything.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Site inspection is the key! I can generally give a vague price over the phone but it will always be just that. Even for a gas ducted heater change over a site inspection is generally the best approach.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

1. Make sure site is tidy and in a workspace is free of debris.  2. If there is rubbish to be removed you can remove it yourself as we inveriably incur a rubbish tip fee and as such, pass these costs on to you with a surcharge.  3. Know what you are after. If changes need to be made on the day of installation, further costs are involved to cater for those changes for deliveries etc...

A quote is normally provided prior to work being carried out. It is rare to charge by the hour approach as there could be unforseen problems and as such costs could become greater than you wanted.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I am pretty much across eveything in my industry. I cover Heat Pumps (commonly cally ducted air conditioning) high wall split systems, evaporative coolers and Gas duxcted heating. I have been doing this for over 15 years now.

I have been in this industry in one way shape or form for over 15 years. I have worked at big companies and small. I have been an opperations manager, installer and salesman. When all is said and done the best way to test me that I know what I am doing is speak to me and ask questions, you will get answers!
