Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
I have worked in this industry for over 20 years and the main reason I have chosen to specialise in Professional Bookkeeping as an Accountant, is so I can make a difference. Many clients suffer through bad and incompetent bookkeeping but only find out, often when it is too late. With our professional, trustworthy and thorough approach to bookkeeping, we are seeking to overcome this problem , one client at a time.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
The great feature about our service is that it is pretty much a one stop shop as we can assist clients in a variety of areas within their business, not just with Accounting & Bookkeeping. For some clients we act as their Accountant, Bookkeeper & Business Manager. Having dealt with many clients and different businesses over the years, we can offer clients a variety of experience and knowledge within different areas of their business, eg. Payroll, setup and installation of your Accounting system, general business advice and support, Financial Management, computer support etc, etc ....
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
Everybody can claim to be honest and trust worthy but I let my existing clients do the talking for me. The majority of our clients have retained our services for periods ranging from 5 - 13 years. So, if you are serious about engaging our services I am more than happy to put you in touch with one of my clients to discuss our reliability, trustworthiness and much more. And I am talking about a real and verifiable clients.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
The moment you decide to engage our services is the beginning of a cost saving process. If you are paying too much for your Tax Accountant at year end to prepare your business tax returns, it could have a lot to do with the method or format in which you present the information and paperwork to him/her. Did you know that if you're currently not using a professional bookkeeper to manage your accounts it can cost up to 150% more at tax time than if you consistently have a bookkeeper manage your affairs. Why? An Accountant will cost 3 times as much as a bookkeeper to correct problems and give advice.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
The typical information that we need to know from clients before we can properly quote on a Bookkeeping job is: 1. Business Entity or Entities involved i.e. Private Company, Partnership, Sole Trader, Unit Trusts, Family Trusts etc ... 2. Current Turnover of the business ? 3. How many bank accounts including business loan accounts ? 4. Roughly how many transactions per month per account ? 5. Is there Payroll ? If so, how many staff ? Are staff on Award, Salary, Enterprise Agreements etc .. ? 6. Will we (OAS) be managing your BAS & IAS preparation and lodgements ? 7. Do you have an existing computerised Accounting system in place ? If so which program / system are you using ? 8. Is your Bookkeeping up to date and current ? If not, what periods are we looking at working on ? 9. Any outstanding issues or matters with the ATO concerning payment or lodgement of your BAS or letters of demand ? 10. Are your Bookkeeping requirements Onsite or Offsite, or it does not matter ?
What do you like most about your job?
I get a real thrill out of helping clients, particularly those who have been struggling with their accounting and bookkeeping and then to see the relief and then excitement when they know and sense through our confidence, that everything is now going to be ok ! And it is even a bigger thrill, when they actually see it. As the owner of this business, I am very results driven and I will work tirelessly until I know the client is happy and truly satisfied. There are many examples of this that I can share with you over a cup of coffee :-)
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
Accounting has pretty much been my professional and business life, since leaving school in 1984. As far as my business is concerned, this came about in 2001 after having worked in Public Practice for a short period of time. I was employed to assist a Public Account with a backlog of work and I was absolutely astounded firstly at the quality of the work coming through from clients but also with how the work was being managed as it was coming in. I knew with the knowledge and experience I possessed I could do a far better and more efficient job and that was all the motivation I needed. A month later, Organised Accounting Solutions was born.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
When it comes to this particular industry, clients need to ask: 1. Are you qualified as a Bookkeeper and as a BAS Agent ? 2. How many years have you worked in the industry ? 3. Do you have client references and can I speak with one or several of your verifiable clients ?
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
There are many situations and various achievements that I can share and happy to do so in detail at the appropriate time. Having said that, I can say that I have one very happy client who has been on my books now for 13+ years this year (2014). I have another client who started his business as a Sole Trader back in 2004 as a budding Financial Planner and with a modest turnover and now, 10 years later, as a Private Company is one of Sydney's very successful Financial Planning companies with a turnover too scary to mention here.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
Clients tend to firstly outline their problem or concern with their own business and they want to know if I can help them ? See, quite often clients leave their accounting and bookkeeping problems to a point where they can't leave them any more. This can often be as a result of a letter from the ATO demanding lodgement of outstanding BAS or Income Tax Returns, or their own Tax Accountant says, I want to help you but to avoid the breaking the bank, you need to find a qualified bookkeeper who can confidently help you through this. My response is always one of confidence because there are not too many situations we have not encountered. Firstly, yes absolutely we can help you. Now my job is to let my potential client know that they are in good hands and that we are qualified and experienced to handle these issues and whilst there may be some work involved (depending on their circumstances), we will get through this. One question I do get alot at times, can you prepare Income Tax Returns. In short, the answer is no and that is by choice. I have been a Tax Agent and I am familiar with Tax Law and taxation matters in general but I have now positioned myself to specialise in Professional Bookkeeping. This way I can povide a greater value of service to my clients all year round as opposed to just once or twice a year.
