The harddrive was found to be faulty so it cost significantly more to restore the machine and all the data was lost. No way the Techs fault. Just one of those things and we suspect it was 2 recent power surges that caused it. Tech was great and had the machine back to me in 2 days. Great job.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Any many cases most issues can be either hard drive or software especially start up issues. So initial diagnose is required. In these cases only an hourly rate is quoted.

Yes I have liability insurance and my work is 100% guaranteed. If any issues or if customer has concerns I will revisit and resolve issue. (This does not include New hardware issues or components that have failed.)

Solving complex situations with companies and individuals and doing this gives me personal satisfaction.So it is considered one of my personal goals.

Had a customer that had a failed Nas and had gone through other companies and they failed to retrieve data. I was able to retrieve all data though persistence and knowledge of recovery software,,, This was 10 years worth of company data. Now I am regular support for this company..
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
It was initially a hobby and I thought why not do something I like and make it in to a career. And then did a 2 year course at Spherion School of Technology and the rest is history.
