How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I had an interest in computers from a very young age, I built my own computer at 15, and I have always fixed other people's computers for them. After 10 years in IT administration and 20 years in other roles, I decided to help the people that relay need the assistance, the home user.

I like the data recovery stories. We do a lot of work with university staff and students, and they often have failing hard drives, with their life's work on them. Obviously not every hard drive failure is recoverable, but 90% are, so when you recover something they thought was gone forever, they are very happy.

Meeting new people everyday, and helping them. Our customers are not generally computer experts, so they need to know we can help AND teach them a few tricks along the way. All of our customers are treated like family and friends.

Qualifications, insurances and price. But at the end of the day, you must have confidence in your tech. He must be able to clearly explain what he will do, how much it will cost you, how quickly he will get you up and running again, and he must charge a reasonable price for the services provided.

When? As soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, same day if possible. Where? Your place or mine. We collect and/or work on-site, or you can deliver to us and save. How much? A firm quotation BEFORE commencing work if required.

1. Keep your computer clean, dust is a killer of many computer components. Regular cleaning of dust filters will may your computer faster, quieter, and last longer. 2. Back up your data (if possible), we don't lose data, but just in case. 3. Make sure you leave your computer OFF if you have a problem, It may further damage the computer if you try to keep using the PC.

We charge a call out fee (which includes the first hour labour), plus an hourly rate after that. Parts additional at very reasonable prices. We accept, cash, direct debit, and cheque (for approved customers). My regular customers receive 7 day accounts.
