How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have worked in finance since I left school, from retail banking, investment banking, through to project accounting and everything in between, It started when I had a few friends ask if I could help them with their book work and grew from a sideline into a full time business, which I love.

I have so many clients now that came to me with a plastic bag full of receipts, those pictures on my profile are from actual jobs! I LOVE my job, I enjoy helping people and taking some of the load off, making life easier for you with less things to worry about. I get great satisfaction by producing a set of correctly managed and reconciled books and ticking all the task off on my practice management software.

Make sure you hire a registered BAS agent and ask to see their registration. To be registered, a BAS Agent needs to be qualified and experienced. At least 1000 hours supervised experience lodging BAS over 4 years, a minimum of a Cert IV in bookkeeping, be insured, hold professional membership.

Customers often want to start with the price and although price should not be the most important thing when choosing the right person to help you with your business, it certainly is something we will need to discuss. My fees start from $39 a week for my basic bookkeeping package.

- Have all tax receipts/invoices scanned to a folder/thumb drive - Download copies of previous BAS submissions for the current financial year - Use a dedicated business account that is not also used for personal expenses

I work predominantly with small businesses using cloud based solutions for bookkeeping, document management and reporting obligations. I also work closely with Tax accountants who can look after your end of year obligations and liaise with them on your behalf.
