Firstly, consider the hourly rate you may charge for work you do. Consider all the hours of learning to do self-publishing properly or learning how to edit your own work.  If you receive my book The Niche Marketing & Book Guide, this will save you a lot of money and time too, with insider tips for publishing success. With copy editing, you save on the price of writing from scratch, however, always consider the audience's needs and benefits first. Otherwise the original writing may have to be completely reworked to be viable.

What makes your pricing competitive?

We have packages that are great value bundles, with editing included, and we don't take author royalties. You keep all profits. Many of our other competitors charge extra for editing and also take 50% of your royalty after retailer cut (i.e. 50% of 45% of net sale price)

How do you normally charge for your service?

Our book editing rates are 0.03 cents per word to 0.06 cents per word, depending on complexity.  Choose from a full print book publishing package or ebook service. Other editing or copywriting is done on a no-obligation quote basis, and is very competitive.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We are specialists in non-fiction books, particularly self-help or learning guides. Occasionally we help people with their memoir or editing of a book for traditional publication.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

I have a BA Communications (Journalism) and a Marketing Certificate.  My main experience is in researched writing and editing, but I also have four years experience in desktop publishing (graphic design). As well, I have been part of a website design business.
