Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes to both.  I take photographs of the before and after photos and keep these on file.  I have never had any complaints. Most people are surprised on just how good it looks when I have done it.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Garage floors were always the 'let down' on any new build. On one build, the garage floor was a mess. It had paint splashes, cracks, holes in the concrete where the concretors problems, so I had to do the Epoxy floor to bring it up to scratch. The end result was so good !

What do you like most about your job?

I really enjoy doing a good job for the customer. Normally the customer is a little bit sceptical about choosing the right Epoxy colour or finish, so I advise them accordingly. I take a before photo, and when the Epoxy floor is finished, they have a look at it and generally go "WOW".

1) How tough is it?   It's very tough. It has superior resistance to chemicals, oils and wear from heavy traffic.   Spills just wipe up with a cloth.  2) How long before I can walk on it?   You can walk on it within 24hrs, and drive on it after 5 days.

You will be dealing directly with me, I do all the work, I do not give it out to other sub-contractors.  I'm friendly, polite and honest.  I'm reliable.   I turn up when I'm supposed to.  I clean up after the job is done, not like other tradies that leave a mess for customers to clean up!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

Just the size of the garage in sq mtrs.  A residential double garage is usually around 6mtrs x 6mtrs = 36m2. A single garage is usually around 6mtrs x 3 mtrs = 18m2.  Does it need cracks filled in? Does it need holes filled in?  When do you want it done? (So I can order the materials)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1) The customer can remove all the items from their Garage. 2) The customer can vacuum out the garage before I am due to start.  3) The customer can negotiate with me beforehand to see how I can save them money.

We charge a reasonable rate for materials & labour.   I do not charge extra for using coloured flakes, most other companies charge more for full flake or partial flake, we don't.   We offer pensioner discounts.  We are prepared to negotiate with customers to save them costs when we are able to

By the square mtr. We round the costs down to the nearest square mtr to save the customer money.  We also offer a good discount to pensioners.

Residential Garage Floors in particular. I generally get the majority of my work from recommendations. Friends, family and clients are impressed by the finish of my work, and that leads on to more work for me.
