How did you decide to get into your line of work?

When I took a course in Small Screen and Media Production some time back, it became apparently clear to me that being in the television and film business was my cup of tea. To top it all off, I recently discovered that there are others in my family tree that are creative artists.

Visual storytelling. The process of rewriting and editing work. Receiving objective and respectful feedback from people who genuinely want quality. I also enjoy the travel.

What is it that the customer is hoping to achieve by asking a service professional to do the job for them? When specifying the need for additional services, what exactly are they hoping that this additional service will do for them? What is the core message that the customer wants to convey when requesting a videography service? Are they willing to reimburse the service professional for travel expenses?

I always plan ahead and keep the customer in mind. If the customer wants the service professional to start at a particular time, I always come prepared.

I own equipment that yield quality images and content. I also am able to travel to the customer's location at no extra cost to the customer. I can also edit the footage recorded or grade images and videos per customer's needs. My rates are constant across all services provided.

Location of the shoot if the service requested is event videography or photography, the desired length of a video if video editing is needed on top of videography services, the date of the shoot and examples of how the customer would like the end product to look like.

Know what you need before hand - i.e. know what you are hoping to achieve by requesting additional services for the job. Edit any footage themselves since most computers come with free versions of video editing software applications like iMovie and Windows Movie Maker of some sort. Have some designated space for the service professional to safely stow their equipment that is inaccessible to other patrons or guests (including children) and away from the main filming or shooting site.

From time to time and depending on the occasion and or the situation, there will be special pricing. Because I offer add on based pricing on top of my base rate, the client or the customer is afforded the choice to have the service delivered in one of the options available to the client.

While the competition charges by the hour for services rendered, I tend to charge per hour or per day. For added flexibility, I offer add on pricing tailored to deliver the services I provide in whatever method the client chooses.

If a job is less than one whole day, then an hourly rate applies. If it is for an entire day, there is a daily flat rate.

Visual story telling and writing. This includes video editing with NLE programs such as Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, which is the industry standard.

I graduated from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles with a filmmaking degree, majoring in visual storytelling and writing.
